Subscribe to Oracle Commerce

Before you can start using Commerce, you must purchase a subscription.

This section applies to both OSF and Storefront Classic. This section applies to Open Storefront Framework (OSF) and Storefront Classic.

After purchasing your subscription, you will receive an email asking you to activate the service by confirming your order. Once your service has been activated, you will receive additional emails so you can set up your Oracle Cloud account.

When you purchase a Commerce subscription, you are also provided tenancy in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), which allows you to provision and maintain your Commerce environment and access your contracted environments. You will also receive additional information with links to extensive resources to help you get started.

Create a new Cloud account

Once you get the email from Oracle, click on the Create new cloud account button provided within the email. This obtains your order information an creates an account for you and takes you to the New Cloud Account Information page. This page allows you to provide the information to create an account, as well as identify your Subscription Order Number and Subscripation ID.

  1. Provide the information requested on the page. This includes your name, email and a password that allows you to access the console.
  2. Provide a Tenancy Name, which is used to identify your environment whenever you sign into the Console. This name is shared with your cloud account. This name can be changed later if you wish.
  3. Identify the Home Region where your account will be created. Once you have created your tenancy, this cannot be changed.
  4. Once you have provided all of the information, click Create Tenancy.

Once you have created an account, you will receive an email that guides you on getting started with your account.

Configure your environment

When you receive the email that you account has been generated, clcik the Sign In button to access your account and configure your environment.

  1. The Oracle Cloud Account Sign In screen appears. This displays the Tenancy and Identity Domain you are signing in to. Enter the User Name and The Oracle Cloud Application Portal screen appears.
  2. By clicking on the Overview link, the Overview page displays your service details and information about your environment.
  3. Click on the Environments tab to select the compartment. Compartments are a collection of related resources that can be accessed by specific groups that have been provided with the correct permissions. For detailed information on compartments, refer to Learn Best Practices for Setting Up Your Tenancy. Once you have selected the compartment, click Create to create the environment.
  4. The Create Environment screen displays, where you provide the environment name, the type of instance and an administrator email. Provide a name for your environment. Select the Oracle Commerce Cloud Service instance type and add your administrator's email address. Ensure that your Region is set correctly. Clicking on Show Advanced Options displays the compartments you have configured.
  5. Click Create to generate your new environment.

Once you have created your environment, you can see the Commerce CLoud Environment Details page which shows detailed environment and status information about your environment.
