Oracle Data Cloud (ODC) integration

Integrating Oracle Unity with Oracle Data Cloud (ODC) allows you to enrich your customer data, which is the process of matching ODC data with your customer records.

Oracle Unity makes ODC data available through pre-configured Enrichment Bundles. The following bundles are available:

  • Demo-basic
  • Demo-extended
  • Syndicated-lifestyles
  • Syndicated-retail
  • Syndicated-seasonal
  • Identity-identifiers

Once Oracle Unity enriches data, you can use it to create and manage customer segments. This data allows you to group customers based on granular behavioral and demographic characteristics to provide better targeting and personalization. For example, you can create segments with Pet owners or Online shoppers.

Integrating with ODC

Integrating with ODC is an automated process. After entering the required configuration data for the integration and saving those settings, Oracle Unity will do the following:

  • Create a source and ingest job. All field mapping and necessary data transformations for the ingest job will be automatically configured.
  • Create an export job to send necessary data to ODC so that it can be enriched.
  • Create the necessary enriched attributes in the Customer and MasterCustomer data objects. They will be categorized in the appropriate attribute group with the name (ODC - [enrichment category])
  • Create the necessary deduplication and promotion rules for MasterCustomer attributes.
  • Make enriched attributes available in the segmentation canvas under Data enrichment.

The image below shows the flow of data as Oracle Unity exports customer records to ODC during the export job and then Oracle Unity imports the enriched customer data from ODC during the ingest job.

Note: To integrate with ODC, you need the Instance admin role assigned to you.

To integrate with ODC:

  1. Navigate to the Configure ODC enrichment page of Oracle Unity by going to the following URL: https://[your cxunity hostname]/?root=odcEnrichment.
  2. Enter the details to configure the import and export of data for ODC enrichment.

      • SFTP server name: Enter the SFTP server name to set up the data connection. This field requires a user name and host name, formatted as username@sftpserverhostname.com.
      • Authentication key: Select the file that has the authentication key needed to access the SFTP server. Oracle Unity will process the file and display the authentication key.
      • SFTP Folder name: Enter the path name to the folder on the SFTP server that will be used for export jobs. Another folder will be created from the name you provide and appended with (OUTGOING), which will be for ingest jobs.
      • Source: The source is used by export jobs to configure where the data needs to be read from. By default, the source of data must be from the Customer data object.
      • Choose category: Select the enrichment categories you will use for creating enrichment attributes.
      • Refresh interval: Enter the number of days you want between enriched data being refreshed by running export and ingest jobs.
      • Notify: Enter emails to be notified when ingest and export jobs run.

  4. Review all the information and click Configure.
  5. Follow the steps for Publishing changes.
