Migrating Financial Consolidation and Close Snapshots

Supported Consolidation and Close Migration Scenarios

Note:

  • Legacy application refers to an application from the latest update of a non EPM Enterprise Cloud Service or EPM Standard Cloud Service subscription.
  • For instructions on migrating on-premises applications to Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud, see "Migrating On-Premises Applications to EPM Cloud" in Administering Migration for Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud.

To migrate a legacy application without Extended Dimensionality to an EPM Enterprise Cloud Service application, follow this process:

  1. Create a backup snapshot by exporting the application from the source legacy environment. Download the backup snapshot to a local computer.
  2. Upgrade the Oracle Essbase version on the source legacy environment using the recreate EPM Automate using the essbaseChange=Upgrade option.
  3. Import the application back into the source legacy environment.
  4. Enable Hybrid mode in the application by selecting Application, then Overview, then Actions and then Enable Hyrbid Mode. For detailed information, see "Migrating to Extended Dimensionality" in Administering Financial Consolidation and Close.
  5. Export the application from the source legacy environment and import it into the destination EPM Enterprise Cloud Service.
  6. Optional: Do this only if you want to bring back the source legacy environment to its original state:
    • Downgrade the Essbase version on the source legacy environment using the recreate EPM Automate with the essbaseChange=Downgrade option.
    • Import the application snapshot that you created in Step 1.
