Protection from Tor (Dark Web)
Tor (The Onion Router) is a free, open-source software that enables anonymous communication by routing internet traffic through a global network of volunteer-operated servers. It encrypts data in multiple layers, similar to the layers of an onion, which helps obscure a user’s IP address and geographic location. This capability is commonly used to enhance privacy, bypass surveillance, and access parts of the internet known as the dark web.
Because Tor can also be used by malicious actors to hide their identities, Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management and Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Data Management block all access originating from Tor networks.
Tor exit node IP addresses change frequently. To maintain protection, Oracle continuously updates its list of known Tor IP addresses and automatically blocks access attempts from these addresses, even as they change.
