6 Published REST APIs Through External AI Tools

REST APIS allow customer-built integrations where external AI tools or agent platforms call Oracle-published EPM REST APIs. The customer owns external model selection, prompt design, security boundaries, auditability, and output review.

The REST APIs guide is the source of truth for endpoints, authentication, roles, and compatibility.

Table 6-1 Published APIs Through External AI Tools

Pattern Oracle-Published APIs
Application-aware AI context Get Application Summary is explicitly documented as an AI REST API returning an AI-focused markdown summary of a business process application, primarily for AI agents, automation, and UIs.
Metadata-aware agents Get Dimension Details retrieves dimension hierarchy details within a plan type, including selected fields, alias tables, hidden dimensions, and attribute dimensions.
Workflow/action agents REST APIs cover Jobs, rules, reports, data, data integration, migration, security, and process-specific resources depending on business-process compatibility.
Secure enterprise integration Oracle supports OAuth 2 and Basic Authentication for Cloud EPM REST APIs and recommends OAuth 2 because it is more secure; REST APIs cannot be run by users configured for basic authentication with MFA.
Network pattern Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management and Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Data Management and can connect through API gateways such as Google APIGEE, IBM DataPower, and other reverse proxy servers.
