Fixing Links in Functions

You may need to fix broken links in Smart View functions.

In workbooks containing functions, such as HsGetValue and HsSetValue, broken links can occur when you uninstall Oracle Smart View for Office on one drive and install it on another drive, or send a Smart View workbook file to a user who has Smart View installed on a different drive.

Tip:

Smart View functions (such as HsGetValue and HsSetValue), make use of the HsTbar.xla file, located in the <SmartViewInstallLocation>/bin/ folder. Excel caches the path to this file with every workbook where functions are used.

If users plan to share workbooks, then as a best practice Oracle recommends that Smart View is installed in the same location on each users' machine so that users do not need to apply Fix Links to adjust the path of HsTbar.xla file in their workbooks.

To fix broken links in functions:

  1. From the Smart View ribbon, select the arrow next to Functions.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select Fix Links.
