Previewing POV in Reports

Previewing the POV gives you the ability to control and edit it before importing or inserting a report.

In Oracle Smart View for Office 23.100+, when you import or insert a report from an EPM Cloud business process or Narrative Reporting, you can preview and set the POV.

Before you begin, you need to enable the User Preference option for Reports, Preview POV, in the web application as follows:

  • In Narrative Reporting, navigate to Tools, select User Preferences, and then select the Preview POV check box in the Reporting tab.
  • From an Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud business process, navigate to Tools, select User Preferences, and then select the Preview POV check box in the Reports tab.

After saving the user preferences, restart Microsoft Excel if it is already open, and connect to the business process in Smart View.

To preview and select the POV when importing or inserting a report:
  1. In the Select POV dialog, view the default POV specified for the report and click OK if you want to proceed importing the report without changing the POV; to edit the POV, proceed to the next step.

    Note:

    If you click Cancel in the Select POV dialog box, the import or insert process is cancelled and the report is not imported in to Smart View.

  2. To edit the POV of the report, perform either of the following tasks as you require:
    • Select a value in each dimension drop-down list and click OK.
    • Select the drop-down menu for a POV dimension, click Select…; then, in the Member Selection dialog, choose a member for the POV, and then click OK.

      Note:

      Be sure to choose only one member in the Member Selection dialog.
