Enabling Calc on the Fly
For ad hoc, service administrators enable calc on the fly in the web application; users enable it in User Preferences. For Forms 2.0, form designers enable calc on the fly in the required forms.
Enabling Calc on the Fly for Ad Hoc Grids
Service administrators can enable member formulas for calc on the fly in the web application and users can enable them in users preferences. The member formulas are referred to as "user formulas" in the web application settings. These formulas must be enabled at following levels, so that users can use them for performing calc on the fly.
- Enable at the application level: As a service administrator,
select the Yes option from the Enable User
Formulas in Ad Hoc list present under Other
Options in Settings. For more information,

- Enable at the user preference level: As a user, select the

User Preferences. Note that this user preference setting
overrides the application setting set by service administrators. For more

Enabling Calc on the Fly for Forms 2.0
Calc on the fly is available in Forms 2.0 and needs to be enabled in form properties.
- Enable Forms 2.0: To work in Forms 2.0, select the Forms
2.0 option from the Forms

- Enable Calc on the Fly: Select the Enable Calc on the
Fly check box under the Grid Properties
section in the Layout tab of a form. Note that this setting
needs to be enabled for each form on which you wish to perform calc on the fly. For
