Viewing Member Information

You can view detailed information about any member on an ad hoc grid. The information displayed depends on the data source type to which you are connected.

Data source types: Oracle Essbase, Planning, Planning Modules, Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management, Financial Consolidation and Close, FreeForm, Tax Reporting

You access the Member Information dialog box from the provider ad hoc ribbon in Smart View. For example, in Smart View, connect to a Planning data source and create a new ad hoc grid or open a saved one. Select a member cell and then, from the Planning Ad Hoc ribbon, select Cell Information.

You can also use these methods to access the Member Information dialog box:

In the ad hoc grid, right-click the selected member cell, then select Smart View, and then select Cell Information.
In the Member Selection dialog box, select a member in the right pane, click , and then select Member Information.

To view member information:

Select a member in the grid.

Oracle Essbase only: You can view member information for a member cell or a data cell. For other data providers, you can view information only for a member cell.
From the data provider ad hoc ribbon, select Cell Information.
Information is displayed on the following tabs. Only the tabs that are applicable to the member and connection are displayed.
- Information: A list of general information about the member such as dimension, level, generation, and so on. These properties may vary based on the selected member and dimension type.
- Aliases: A list of alias tables and corresponding aliases associated with the member
- Attributes: A table of the dimensions, members, and types of attributes associated with the member
- Formula: The formula associated with the member
- Comments: A list of comments associated with the member
- User Defined Attributes: A list of user defined attributes (attributes of the member defined by the administrator
Optional: To save the information in an Excel file, select Save.
Click Close.
