Setting Smart View Options

Set options for displaying data, members, formatting, and advanced settings using the Smart View Options.

In Smart View, you can set options at two levels — Global and Sheet.

Setting Global Options

Global options apply to the entire current spreadsheet, including any new sheets added to the current spreadsheet, and to spreadsheets that are created later. Changes to global options also affect existing sheets and spreadsheets.

  • The options that appear on the Advanced tab of the Options dialog are global options. You can access these options from an empty sheet also.
  • The Row Suppression, Column Suppression, and Block Suppression options in the Data tab are also global options.

For more information, see Advanced Options.

Setting Sheet Options

Sheet options are specific to the sheet for which they are set. The options that appear on the Data, Members, and Formatting tabs of the Options dialog are sheet options.

For more information, see:

Saving Options as Default

You can save your preferred sheet options that you have set in the Data, Members, and Formatting tabs as default. Saving options as default helps you to automatically apply the same options to any future grids you create or import in Smart View.

To save options as default, first set your preferred options in the Data, Members, and Formatting tabs. Then, go to the Advanced tab and click Save Current Options as Default.

Note:

Changes made in the Advanced tab automatically become the default settings. You do not need to select the Save Current Options as Default command to save the Advanced options.

Clearing Saved Options or Resetting Options

You can reset or clear the options you have saved as default in the Data, Members, and Formatting tabs. To clear saved options, go to the Advanced tab and click Clear Saved Options. This clears the options you saved earlier and resets the settings to default Smart View options.

Note:

The Clear Saved Options action does not clear the options you have set in the Advanced tab. To clear the Advanced options along with current session related cache, click Clear Storage.
