Moving Members

Moving a member can cause it and its descendants to be part of rule source and destinations ranges if it is moved under a member that is directly referenced by a rule source or destination. This is the same as when adding a new member.

In most cases, there are no other impacts of moving a member except when there are duplicate members in the database. In this case, moving a member acts in the same way as deleting the member and then later adding it in a new location. This causes data loss during metadata deploy.
