Filtering Which Rules Are Displayed

You can use the following filtering options to filter the rules displayed on the Mass Edit tab:

  • Search term in the rule name or description

  • Model

  • Rule Set

  • Rule Type

  • Custom Filter

You can use as few or as many filters as you want.

Using a Search Term to Find Rules

To search for a rule or rules, enter all or part of a rule name or description in the Search field, and click Search icon.

For example, entering "costs" in the Search field displays all the rules with "costs" somewhere in the rule name or description.

To remove the search filter, click Remove Filter icon.

Filtering by Model, Rule Set, or Rule Type

To filter by Model, Rule Set, or Rule Type, click the drop-down next to each of these to select your filter options.

Setting a Custom Filter

A custom filter helps you identify all the rules that reference a specific dimension member within a specific rule component.

To set a custom filter:

  1. Click Filter.

  2. Enter the filter criteria in the Custom Filter dialog box:

    • Dimension: Select the dimension on which you want to filter.

    • Rule Component: Select whether to filter by the Source, Destination, Target, Driver Basis or Offset. See Defining an Allocation Rule Driver and Defining an Allocation Rule Offset.

      Note:

      If you selected a Years, Period, Scenario, or Version POV dimension, only Driver Basis and Offset are available to select for the Rule Component.

    • Operator: Select Contains or Does Not Contain, and then select a member in the Find Member field.

    • Find Member: Define the member on which to search. Either type in the member, or click Find Member icon and select a member from the Select Members dialog box. See Using the Member Selector.

  3. Click OK.

To remove the custom filter, click the filter, and then click Remove.
