Resource Calendars

Calendars identify the hours that a resource works. This information is used to route activities and calculate arrival times. If a resource’s schedule changes, you must update their working hours in the Calendar.

Oracle Fusion Field Service includes two types of schedules--default and individual. Default schedule is the working time configured for the whole organization, division, or for a particular geographic region. In other words, a default schedule is the working time added at the Organization unit or Bucket level, which is inherited by the child resources. Individual schedule is the working time applied to an individual resource. The individual schedule takes precedence over the default schedule. Further, you can change a default schedule to an individual schedule, and back to default schedule.

You can interact with a resource’s calendar in two ways:

  • Calendars (Daily view): Use the Calendars page (Daily view) to see the calendar of a resource, group or bucket for a whole week. You can use this view to make small changes to individual calendars in the current week.

  • Resource Calendar View: Use the resource calendar view to see the details about an individual resource’s schedule. You can use this view to make changes that involve more than one day or more than one resource.
