Take Photos Using the In-App Camera

You can take photos using the in-app camera available in the installed app, without navigating away from the app. If you access Oracle Field Service through a browser, you will use the native device camera.

  1. Follow these steps to take a photo:
    1. Click a field that has an image property. The capture image page opens.
    2. Tap an area to focus.
    3. Click the capture image button.
    4. Switch between the front and back cameras through the swap camera button on the capture image page.
    5. Click Cancel to go back.
  2. Follow these steps to zoom in our zoom out:
    1. Pinch the image in or out to zoom in our zoom out. When you activate zoom, you can also use the slider to zoom in or out. The slider disappears, if the zoom function is idle for a while.
  3. To set the flash, tap the flash button in the top right of the capture image page. You can turn the flash On or Off, or set it to auto.
  4. Follow these steps to preview a photo:
    1. After you capture an image on the capture image page, you get the preview page where you have options to:
      • View the captured images.
      • Edit the captured image.
      • Save the image (Submit button).
    2. You can click the back icon in the top left and go back to the capture image page. If you go back without saving, you see a warning that you will lose the captured images and any edits.
  5. Follow these steps to crop an image:
    1. Click the crop icon on the top left of the preview page to activate the crop mode.
    2. Move the crop grid to the required area and crop the image. When you finish cropping, click the check mark at the bottom right to confirm the edits.
    3. Click the back button to exit the crop mode.
    4. If you have cropped an image incorrectly, you can reset the crop by clicking the reset button at the lower left corner of the crop page.
  6. Follow these steps to draw an image:
    1. Click the draw icon on the top left of the preview page to activate the draw mode.
    2. Draw on the image and highlight the required areas. When you finish highlighting, click the check mark and confirm the edits.
    3. Click the back button to exit the draw mode.
    4. To reset a drawing, click the reset button at the bottom left.

    A watermark is added to the image, if your administrator has configured it. The watermark includes the current date and time, UTC offset, and the latitude and longitude. The date and time are recorded in the your time zone and displayed in the format configured for you. Further, you must select the location service on your mobile device for the watermark to be added. If you open the application on a browser, you must select the permission to track the geolocation on for the environment.
