Configure Oracle Fusion Field Service to Capture Multiple Photos

You can configure Oracle Fusion Field Service to enable mobile workers to upload photos to activities and inventory records. Depending on the business requirement, you can create a File property for a single photo, create an Attachment property that stores multiple photos as Fusion Attachments, or create an Attachment property that stores multiple photos in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Object Storage for a specified period.

You can also configure photos captured through the Attachment form element to include a visible watermark. The watermark can include the mobile worker’s location and the date and time when the photo was captured. Use this option when photos must provide proof of service, proof of location, compliance evidence, or audit records.

When can you use the File property?

You can use the Create a File property option when you want a single photo to be uploaded. The uploaded photo is stored within Oracle Fusion Field Service. You can use this method if you always capture photos using the browser-based application.

When can you use Fusion attachments?

You can use the Create an Attachment property to use with Fusion attachments option when you want multiple photos to be uploaded. For example, before and after photos of a broken equipment. You must use this option with other Oracle products such as Fusion Service or Oracle Maintenance. The photos taken are uploaded to the corresponding work order.

When can you use Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Object Storage?

You can use the Create an Attachment property to use with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Object Storage option when you want multiple photos to be uploaded and retained for a specified period. For example, the photos of a technician with protective gear, which needs to be preserved for auditing for a specified period. This means, use this option for photos that require a shorter retention policy, for photos that are shared with third-parties, or for photos that require extra validation through AI. You can configure the period in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Object Storage and have different periods for different customers. The photos taken are stored in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Object Storage.

Inventory Photo Attachments with OCI Object Storage

Inventory Photo Attachments allow field resources to capture and attach multiple photos directly to inventory items and inventory forms. Photos are automatically uploaded to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Object Storage and can be used for asset documentation, compliance tracking, inventory audits, and integration with external systems.

Mobile workers can:
  • Capture multiple photos for a single inventory item.
  • Add photos while adding or editing inventory.
  • Crop or annotate photos before saving.
  • Preview captured photos before submission.
  • Continue working offline and synchronize photos automatically when connectivity is restored.
Supported use cases include:
  • Utility equipment inspections.
  • Construction asset verification.
  • Parts installation confirmation.
  • Damage documentation.
  • Inventory audits.

  1. Configure an application for Fusion attachment.

  3. Add the Attachment form element to the required pages and forms.
  4. Select the Attachments property for this form element.
Steps to configure Oracle Fusion Field Service to capture multiple photos using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Object Storage:
  1. Configure an application for OCI Object Storage.
  2. Create an Attachment property.
  3. Add the Attachment form element to the required pages and forms.
  4. Select the Attachments property for this form element.
Optional step to configure watermarks for photos:
  1. Add the Attachment form element to the required pages and forms.
  2. Expand the Photo Settings section.
  3. Enable Add watermark to photos.
  4. Publish the page or form configuration.

Configure Inventory Photo Attachments

To configure Inventory Photo Attachments:
  • Create an application for OCI Object Storage.
  • Create an Attachments property.
  • Select the Inventory entity.
  • Associate the property with the OCI Object Storage application.
  • Add the Inventory Attachments property to an Inventory form.
  • Add a button to the Add/Edit Inventory screen that launches the Inventory form.
