- How do I get started with Oracle Fusion Field Service?
- Manage Legal Entity
Manage Legal Entity
Following up the previous step, a legal entity must be defined for each registered company or entity recognized by law for which you want to hire people. A legal employer must be specified when you create new application users such as Field Service Mobile Workers or Field Service Managers and as such at least one legal entity must be identified as a legal employer.
- Logged into Fusion Applications, click Navigator > My Enterprise > Setup and Maintenance.
- Ensure that Field Service is selected in the Setup field in the header.
- Click Company Profile in the Functional Areas section.
- Click Manage Legal Entity.
- Select Search Legal Entities, then click Apply and Go to Task. Once the page renders, you can either see a list of current legal entities or search for a specific one to verify that it's already in place and ready to reference.
- If you do need to add a new legal entity, then click the Create button.
-
The following fields are mandatory when creating a legal entity:
- Country: Country where the legal entity is situated; the selection here will determine what Registration Information will need to be entered below.
- Name: Legal entity name as it is registered with the government. For example, Supremo Fitness Corporation.
- Legal Entity Identifier: Code to uniquely identify the legal entity.
- Identifying Jurisdiction: The first jurisdiction that you must register with to be allowed to do business in a particular country. If there's more than one jurisdiction that a legal entity must register with to start business, you can select one here as the identifying jurisdiction. Typically the identifying jurisdiction is the one you use to uniquely identify your legal entity.
- Legal Address: The address for the legal entity that was verified or created in the previous step.
- EIN or TIN: For US companies - Employer Identification Number or Federal Tax Identification Number; for legal entities in other countries, this field will automatically change to reference their required registration information.
- Legal Reporting Unit Registration Number
- Optionally, if your legal entity should be registered to report payroll tax and social insurance, select the Payroll statutory unit checkbox. This functionality is part of Fusion Global Payroll in HCM and as such, the implications of this aren't covered here. You can check this option though if you have only a single legal entity configured.
- You must select the Legal employer checkbox for at least one legal entity. When you create users you must provide a Legal Employer, so if you are adding multiple legal entities, select this checkbox for at least one of those entities.
