Key Capabilities
- Native implementation of Oracle Fusion Field Service Mobility.
- Near real-time capture of geocoordinates.
- Visibility into resource location and travel patterns.
- Available through Google Play and the Apple App Store.
- Configured using the same Mobility settings as the core Oracle Fusion Field Service platform.
Installation and Access
You can download, install, and run the mobile app directly from your device’s app store.
If your organization uses Mobile Device Management (MDM), adjust these steps as needed to match your MDM deployment flow.
Device Requirements
To run the Oracle Fusion Field Service mobile app, ensure:
- The device is using a supported release of the mobile app.
- Location services are available and enabled in High Accuracy mode (use GPS, WLAN,
and mobile network to determine location).Note: For the latest OS and browser compatibility details, see Browser Support Policy.
Security Considerations
The mobile app operates within the existing Oracle Fusion Field Service security model.
It does not introduce new methods of storing or handling sensitive data.
- Information Access
- The app does not modify or extend existing secure storage mechanisms.
- Sensitive customer or user data continues to be handled by Oracle Fusion Field Service's built-in security layers.
- Authentication
- Uses the existing Oracle Fusion Field Service authentication model.
- No additional login or authentication steps are required.
- Communication
- The application uses https protocol for any communication out of device.
- All communication uses the HTTPS protocol.
- Self-signed certificates are not supported.
- Access tokens are obtained through secured Oracle Fusion Field Service APIs.
- Device Security
The app does not manage or enforce device-level security settings. Organizations are responsible for ensuring that devices are protected appropriately.
Recommended device safeguards include:- Enabling device encryption.
- Disabling developer options or debugging modes.
- Setting a device password or screen lock.
- Validating any mobile security tools or MDM configurations for
compatibility.Note: If you use custom security tools or policies, test them with the mobile app before wide deployment.
