Capture Photos with Multi-Image Watermark
Your organization may configure Field Service to add a visible watermark to photos captured using the Attachments element. The watermark helps verify where and when a photo was taken by including location and timestamp information directly on the image. Each image receives its own watermark information.
Watermarked photos help:
- Confirm where work was performed.
- Confirm when photos were captured.
- Support compliance requirements.
- Improve audit readiness.
- Provide additional proof of service completion.
Before you begin, ensure that:
- Location services are enabled on your device.
- Location permission is granted to the Field Service application.
Capture Watermarked Photos
- Open the activity or form.
- Navigate to the Attachments section.
- Capture one or more photos.
- Save the photos.
Field Service automatically:
- Captures location information.
- Evaluates location quality.
- Applies watermark information.
- Saves the image.
Location Notifications
During image capture, you may receive notifications when:
- Location information is unavailable.
- Location accuracy is low.
- Your location is outside the expected activity area.
- Location permission is unavailable.
These notifications help identify potential location issues before the activity is completed.
Multiple Image Capture
When capturing multiple images:
- Each image is processed separately.
- Each image receives its own location status.
- Each image receives its own watermark.
Location information for one image does not automatically apply to other images.
When watermarking is enabled, location permission is required.
If permission is not granted:
- Open device settings.
- Enable location permission for Field Service.
- Return to the application.
- Capture the photo again.
View Watermarked Images
The watermark remains visible when you:
- Preview images.
- Edit images.
- Crop images.
The watermark remains attached to the image throughout these actions.
Depending on configuration, the watermark can display:
- Latitude and longitude.
- Date and time.
- Accuracy information for low accuracy locations.
Understanding Location Statuses
Your images may be associated with one of these statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| SUCCESS | A valid location was captured. |
| LOW ACCURACY | A location was captured but accuracy is lower than expected. |
| NO GEOLOCATION | No location information was available. |
| WRONG LOCATION | The captured location is outside the configured activity area. |
| NO PERMISSION | Location permission was unavailable. |
