Using Voice Commands for Collaboration on iOS
On iOS devices, you can use Siri to perform Collaboration actions hands-free. This feature allows you to reply to messages, send new one-to-one messages, and have Siri read your unread Collaboration messages without needing to tap the screen. It is especially useful while traveling between jobs or when your hands are busy on-site. Voice commands are supported only while your route is active.
When you invoke Siri, you can ask to reply to your latest message, send a message to a specific contact in Oracle Fusion Field Service, or check if you have new Collaboration messages. For example, you can say, “Hey Siri, reply to my latest Field Service message”, “Hey Siri, send a message to [contact] in Field Service”, or “Hey Siri, do I have any new messages in Field Service?”
This capability increases productivity by letting you communicate without interrupting your work and improves safety and compliance by reducing device handling while driving. Mobile workers can stay updated on the go, escalate issues to supervisors quickly, and coordinate with colleagues more efficiently.
To use voice commands, your device must meet these requirements:
-
iOS 14 or later with Siri enabled
- Location access for the Field Service app set to >Always Allow
-
Oracle Field Service 25D or later
-
Oracle Field Service iOS app version 2025.11 or later
Voice communication through Siri follows your existing Collaboration permissions. You can only message people you already have Collaboration access to, and messages are limited to one-to-one conversations. Helpdesk, conference, broadcast, and system messages are not supported, and group sender identification is not available. Siri may sometimes prompt you to open the Field Service app to refresh the connection.
