Debrief Plugin

Debriefing involves documenting the time and materials used during an activity. Mobile workers can click the Debrief button on an ongoing activity to record time, expenses, or materials information for an invoice report. For project-based team or crew activities, Debrief also lets the crew lead or crew members report labor hours for individual crew members so that the hours can be posted to Oracle Time and Labor.

A mobile worker uses the debriefing process to report this information:
  • Labor: Includes travel time and working time, measured in hours. For team or crew-based project activities, labor can be captured for each crew member assigned to the activity.
  • Parts: Parts and materials used while performing the activity
  • Charges: Any extra charges such as tolls or parking (measured in money spent)

All parts, labor, and expense items are stored in the installed inventory pool of the corresponding customer activity. The invoice is saved as a PDF file to the file property of the activity.

Crew Labor in Debrief

For a project-based activity that uses Teamwork, Debrief can capture labor hours for individual crew members. When the Debrief page opens, labor entries are automatically populated for the crew members assigned to the activity if the laborItemNumberForRegLabor parameter is configured. By default, each crew member’s labor duration is set to the total duration of the activity.

The crew lead or any crew member assigned to the activity can:

  • Review auto-populated labor entries.
  • Delete an incorrect labor entry.
  • Add labor for a missing crew member.
  • Add labor for a different work type.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete labor hours before submitting Debrief.

When Debrief is submitted, Oracle Fusion Field Service creates or updates OTL time entries for each crew member. Each entry is associated with the crew member’s resource identity and the project task linked to the activity.

Important Considerations:

  • Activities created from Oracle Fusion Service work orders or Maintenance work orders are not supported.
  • Team-based OTL posting is supported only for activities that use the Teamwork feature.
  • If crew labor auto-population is not configured, crew members must add labor entries manually from the Debrief page.
