Updating Prior Period Data

The Prior Period Data Updates configuration task updates and populates data required as a result of the addition of new instances of shared entities being added to the organization structure. Common data in Entity Currency is copied to the new instances and translations to populate Parent Currency (for multi-currency applications) are executed. In the event that these updates did not properly execute during the post DB Refresh process, prior periods can be updated by running this task. The in-scope entities are initialized as Inactive, so updating the Common data will not impact their parent members.

This configuration task is only available if you have enabled the Enhanced Organization by Period feature in the application.

To run the task on only specific points of view, select members for Scenario and Target Year. To run the task for all points of view in which Common data needs to be updated from existing data, you can execute the task without selecting any filters. Note that this task should be run before any new Inactive instances of shared entities are changed to another consolidation method.

To run the configuration task, you must be a Service Administrator.
