Enterprise Journal Status
The journal workflow status indicates the current state of the journal. The status of a journal changes when you create, submit, or approve the journal.

Open with Approver |
When a Preparer submits a journal, responsibility passes to the first Approver in the Workflow, and the status changes to Open with Approver. When a Approver approves a journal, responsibility passes to the next Approver in the Workflow, if there is one, and status remains Open with Approver. An email notification is sent to the Approver. If the journal has no other Approvers, the status changes to Closed. |

Open with Preparer |
When a Approver rejects a journal, responsibility returns to the Preparer, and the status changes to Open with Preparer. |

Open with Approver |
When a Preparer submits a journal, the reponsibility passes to the Approver defined in the Workflow. |

Closed |
When all Approvers have approved a journal based on the Workflow, the status changes to Closed. |
|
Overridden |
When a journal has been Force Closed, its status changes to Overridden. |
The journal validation status indicates the current validation stage of the journal. The journal data need to be validated before submitting for approval or posting. If the journal is enabled for external validation, corresponding journal’s entries is validated against the Target ERP systems.

The journal validation is in progress. |

Valid |
Journal data has been validated against the External Target ERP system and data is valid. |
| Failed | Journal data has been validated against the External Target ERP system and validation has failed. |
The journal posting status indicates the current posting state of the journal. The journal actions that are available depend on the journal status. For example, if the journal has a status of Approved, the only action available is Post.

When a journal has been Submitted and Approved based on the Workflow, and has been validated by the system, it is ready to Post. |

Status after the journal posting process. You can view the job status in the Jobs console. |
