Configuring Detailed Analysis

You can configure Detailed Analysis custom expressions based on your business requirements. When you configure Detailed Analysis, you can create your own expression, select a POV, and use your own custom ratios.

These custom configurations are created separately and are not attached to a Financial Statement. The results are available on the Analysis page in the Detailed Analysis section.

To configure Detailed Analysis:

  1. On the Home page, click Financial Analysis Hub, then select Configuration.

    The Configuration page is displayed with a list of available configurations.

  2. Click Create.

  3. On the Types tab, from Analysis Type, select Detailed Analysis.

  4. Enter a Name, and a Description for the configuration, then click Next.

  5. On the Settings tab, for POV Selection, use the Member Selector Analysis member selector icon to select members for the POV, or use the default members if provided., then click Next.

    Note that the Consol cube is selected by default, and cannot be changed.

  6. On the Options tab, the Expression Details is blank. Click the Edit button to Add Expression.

  7. In the Expression Builder box, select the intersection of the POV from the Member Selector, then click OK.

  8. Click the Add button to add another intersection from the Member Selector.

  9. From Exception Handling Algorithms, you must select an algorithm to calculate anomalies in a data set, for example, Z score, Modified Z score, Mean Absolute Deviation or Interquartile Range. This enables you to see if the current data is within or outside these limits.

  10. When you have finished creating a configuration, click Save or Save and Run.

    • To save a configuration and run it later, click Save. The configuration is then displayed on the main Configurations list of available configurations, and you can run it at any time.

    • To run a configuration immediately after you create it, click Save and Run. The configuration is run and you can view the results of the generated analysis on the Analysis page. The configuration is also saved and added to the main Configurations list of available configurations.
