5Frequently Asked Questions

This chapter contains the following:

Why isn't the link to Tax Authority Invoice enabled for the AP invoice?

This depends on the value of the Tax Invoice Creation Point column in both the Configuration Owner Tax Options and Tax setup.

  • Invoice: If the Tax Invoice Creation Point column is Invoice, then the tax authority invoice is created and the link is enabled on validating the AP invoice.

  • Payment: If the Tax Invoice Creation Point column is Payment, then the tax authority invoice is created and the link is enabled after the payment of AP invoice.

Why are decimal values eliminated from the total tax amount and shown as an integer?

The decimal places in the tax amounts are based on the precision and minimum accountable unit defined in the tax and currency setup. You must verify if these values are correctly defined in both the Manage Tax and Manage Currencies page.

Why isn't Edit Taxes enabled for the AP invoice?

You will have to enable the Allow adjustments to paid invoice option to enable Edit Taxes for the AP invoice. Here's how you enable the option:

  • Sign in as an implementation consultant.

  • Go to Setup and Maintenance > Manage Implementation Projects > <your implementation project>.

  • Search for the task: Manage Invoice Options.

  • From Selected Scope, select the required business unit and click Go to the task.

  • Select Allow adjustments to paid invoice.

Why is the Calculate Tax button missing from the Create Invoice page on the supplier portal?

This is because you have enabled the Supplier Portal Invoice Enhancement option. You must deselect this option. Here's how you can do this:

  • Go to Setup and Maintenance > Financials.

  • From the Payables functional area, click Actions > Change Feature Selection.

  • Deselect Supplier Portal Invoice Enhancement.

Why isn't the tax applied to a transaction?

These are some of the reasons when the tax isn't applied to a transaction. You can verify and correct them as required.

  • The business unit or legal entity isn't subscribed to the regime.

  • The party type is incorrect. If the Use Legal Entity Subscription option is enabled for the business unit in the Party Tax profile, then for the regime subscription, you must select First Party Legal Entity as the party type instead of Business Unit Owning Tax Content.

  • The applicable regime, tax, status, jurisdiction, and rate are active and aren't end dated.

  • Tax applicability rules aren't created. If the tax isn't applicable by default, then you must create tax applicability rules with the required condition.

Why are there no values in the Product Fiscal Classification LOV while creating an AR transaction?

This is because the applicable taxation country isn't defined. Select the Miscellaneous tab and enter the applicable taxation country such as the United States.

Why is the Tax Classification Code (TCC) not displayed as a default value on the purchase order?

Here are the things you must check if the Tax Classification Code (TCC) isn't displayed as a default value on the purchase order:

  • The purchase order is saved.

  • The defaulted TCC is displayed on the Schedules tab of the purchase order. Note that the TCC isn't displayed on the Lines tab.

  • The defaulting hierarchy is defined in the Application Tax Options setup.

  • The TCC is at least assigned to an item, supplier, or supplier site.

Why isn't the tax getting applied per the Product Fiscal Classification (PFC) rules?

Here are some of the reasons when the tax isn't applied per the PFC rules. You can verify and correct them as required.

  • The Primary Inventory Category Set option is enabled for the Country Default Controls setup.

  • The catalog and category are defined, and the item is assigned to a category.

Why is the Inclusive option disabled from detail tax lines for the AP invoice?

These are some of the reasons when the Inclusive option is disabled. You can verify and correct them as required.
