Before Users Can Create Joint Venture Operational Reports
Before users can create joint venture operational reports in OTBI, an administrator must perform these tasks:
- Create a custom role with the BIAuthorJV duty role and assign it to each user.
- Make sure that the key flexfield segments are enabled for OTBI.
- Make sure that users have been set up with ledger access.
You must be a user with the IT Security Manager role to perform these tasks.
- Open the Security Console, select the Roles tab, and click Create Role.
- Create a role with these attribute values:
Attibute Values Role Name BIAuthorJV Role Code BIAuthorJV Role Category Financials - Job Roles - Click Next until you reach the Create Role BIAuthorJV: Role Hierarchy page.
- Click Add Role and then search for "BI Author Role".
- Select the role and add membership.
- Click Next until you can save and close the page.
- Click the Users tab and search for the user that you want to assign the BIAuthorJV role to.
- Click the user link to access the user details.
- Click Edit and then click Add Role.
- Search for BIAuthorJV and click Add Membership, Done.

In FSM, search for the "Manage Chart of Accounts Structure Instances" task.

On Manage Chart of Accounts Structure Instances, enter GL# for General Ledger in the Key Flexfield Code field and click Search.

In the results, select the row for the General Ledger application and click Manage Structure Instances.

On Manage Key Flexfield Structure Instances, in the Structure Instance Code field, enter the code for the structure instance in which your joint ventures are managed and click Search.

In the results, select the row with the structure instance and click Actions, Edit.

On Edit Key Flexfield Structure Instance: select the row with the appropriate segment code and click Actions, Edit.

In the dialog box, click the BI enabled check box and click OK.
- Click Save and Close, and then click Done.

In FSM, search for the Manage Reference Data Set Data Access for Users task for the Enterprise Profile functional area and open it.

On Manage Data Access for Users, select the Users with Data Access option.

In the Security Context list, select Ledger.

Enter the user name and click Search.
The results show the ledgers that the user has access to.

If the user doesn't have access to the appropriate ledger, then use the "Users without Data Access" option to set up user access to the ledger.
