Disable Override from Source Option

Set the Disable Override from Source option in the Currency Conversion section of the Manage System Options for Revenue Management page to control currency conversion.

To enable this option, check the Disable Override from Source option in the Currency Conversion section of the Manage System Options for Revenue Management page. Enabling this option ensures that the application applies only the default conversion type and conversion date when converting foreign currency revenue contract lines to the ledger currency.

If you enable the Disable Override from Source option, the application:
  • Uses the conversion rate type defined in the Manage System Options for Revenue Management page.
  • Uses the associated Revenue Management accounting contract date as the conversion rate date.
  • Ignores the currency conversion rate type, rate, and date data provided on the source document.
  • Uses the inversion rate for the conversion rate to convert the ledger currency allocated amount to the entered currency allocated amount.
  • Bypasses the currency conversion validations in the Validate Customer Contract Source Data process.

If you don't enable the Disable Override from Source option and the source document line is a new source document line with a source document header, the application:

  • Uses currency conversion attributes that were imported and appear on the new line's source document header.
  • Uses the conversion rate type and date from the source document header to look up the conversion rate in the GL Daily rates table. The application uses this information to convert the source document line's entered currency amount to the ledger currency accounted amount for the accounting contract.
  • When the source document header has a conversion rate type of User, the application uses the rate in the conversion rate attribute on the header as the rate to convert the source document line's entered currency amount to the ledger currency accounted amount.

When Disable Override from Source isn't enabled and the source document line is a new source document line with no source document header or the source document header has no currency conversion details, the application:

  • Uses the conversion rate type defined in the Manage System Options for Revenue Management page.
  • Uses the contract revision date from the new source document line as the conversion rate date.
  • Uses the application default conversion rate type and the new source document line's contract revision date as the rate date to look up the conversion rate in the GL Daily rate table. The application uses this information to convert the entered currency amount of the source document line to the ledger currency accounted amount.
  • Applies the defaults, regardless of whether the conversion rate type is a user or nonuser type, on the referencing parent source document line's source document header.
Note: Any changes you make to the setting apply to new and unprocessed lines beginning with the change date.
