Create an Implied Performance Obligation Template
This example shows you how to configure an implied performance obligation template.
To create an implied performance obligation template:
- Navigate to the task Manage Implied Performance Obligation Templates.
- Click the Add icon to create a new template.
- On the Create Implied Performance Obligation Template page, in the header section
enter these values:
Field Value Name Free Car Charger with Phone Satisfaction Method Require complete Enabled Yes Currency USD Description Car charger implied with phone Default Classification Phones - On the Promised Details tab, enter these values:
Field Value Item Car Charger Satisfaction Measurement Model Quantity UOM Each Quantity 1 - On the Included Conditions tab, click Add Condition and enter
the following values:
Field Value Left Hand Expression: Expression Type Attribute Operand Name Item Number Operator Equals Right Hand Expression: Operand Value Mobile Phone A - Click OK.
- Click Save and Close.
To process implied performance obligations:
- Run the Validate Customer Contracts and Identify Customer Contracts processes. After the processes complete successfully with no errors, the application automatically generates a contract with performance obligations, including the implied performance obligation.
- Create the satisfaction events manually in the Manage Customer Contracts page to enable Revenue Management to recognize revenue for the implied performance obligation. For over time implied performance obligations with a satisfaction measurement model of Period, you must update the plan start and end dates manually in the Manage Customer Contracts page.
Note: To fully automate the integration from the source applications to Revenue
Management without manually adding satisfaction events, import the implied promise as a
source document line data with the appropriate quantity and a unit selling price of 0
(zero). Import any satisfaction events for those implied promises when they are
