Set Up Oracle Joint Venture Management to Display Project Values by Joint Venture

This is an optional configuration to increase efficiency in the user experience. It's not required to use the features available in a Joint Venture Management integration with Oracle Fusion Cloud Project Management.

As part of a Joint Venture Management integration with Oracle Project Management, users can specify project values as criteria for identifying transactions for a joint venture. Users can select from a list of project values when setting up project sets, joint venture definitions, and ownership definition assignment rules. By default, Joint Venture Management displays a list of all projects that are available to the user in Oracle Project Management. To help users select a project value, you can configure Joint Venture Management to display projects that are applicable only to the joint venture.

This configuration involves setting up a descriptive flexfield in Oracle Project Management that enables you to associate a joint venture to one or more projects. Once these associations are in place, Joint Venture Management displays a list of project values by joint venture in the applications used to set up project sets, joint venture definitions, and ownership definition assignment rules.

To enable this configuration, complete these tasks:

  1. Activate profile option to enable the project descriptive flexfield association.
  2. Set up a descriptive flexfield in Oracle Project Management.
  3. Specify the descriptive flexfield in the Joint Venture System Options.
  4. Associate joint ventures to projects in Oracle Project Management.
  5. Set up Joint Venture Management users with the privilege to view project values.
