How GTAS Attributes Are Derived

This topic describes how the GTAS attributes are derived for USSGL accounts when you run the GTAS accumulation process.

When you run the GTAS accumulation process, the attributes are derived for USSGL accounts using the following logic:

  1. The process selects fields from the journal header and journal line records based on the process parameters and the data selection criteria described in the preceding topic, GTAS Accumulation Data Selection Criteria.
  2. The attributes and the attribute values for each journal line are derived.

The process determines the required attributes for each USSGL account from the USSGL account attributes table. For each required attribute, the process checks the federal attributes table for the attribute mapping. Based on the configuration of the category, source, and source lookup rules, the attribute value is derived for each journal line. Additionally, the process checks for any exceptions mapped on supplemental rules when deriving the attribute values.

Note: Only the natural accounts for which the parent USSGL accounts exist in the USSGL table and are GTAS-reportable are considered for deriving the attribute values.
  3. All the selected journal fields are grouped by the USSGL account, Treasury Account Symbol, and federal attributes to calculate the balances.
