Guidelines for Suspending and Resuming Depreciation
You can suspend or resume the depreciation of an asset.
If you suspend depreciation of an asset when the asset is added, Assets expenses the missed depreciation in the period in which the depreciation for the asset is enabled.
Calculation of the missed depreciation varies depending on which of the following types of depreciation methods you use:

Suspend Depreciation
This task shows you how to suspend depreciation for a specific asset.
- In the Assets landing page, click the Adjust Assets panel tab.
- In the Adjust Assets page, search for the asset that you want to suspend depreciation for.
- Select the asset row.
- Click Actions > Suspend Depreciation.
- In the Suspend Depreciation dialog box, enter details about the depreciation suspension.
- Click OK.
Resume Depreciation
This task shows you how to resume depreciation for a specific asset.
- In the Assets landing page, click the Adjust Assets panel tab.
- In the Adjust Assets page, search for the asset for which depreciation was suspended and that you now want to resume depreciation for.
- Select the asset row.
- Click Actions > Resume Depreciation.
- In the Resume Depreciation dialog box, enter details about the depreciation resumption.

Suspend or Resume Depreciation Using an Integrated Workbook
Use the Manage Mass Suspend or Resume Depreciation integrated workbook to suspend or resume depreciation for multiple assets.

Open the integrated workbook by clicking the Adjust Assets in Spreadsheet panel tab.

Select the transaction type, either Suspend depreciation or Resume depreciation.

Enter a transaction group name.

Click Next and then click OK.

Enter your sign in information when prompted.

Enter the required information and any optional information, if necessary.

When you're finished:

Click Save.

Click Save and Post Transactions if you're ready to post the transactions.
