Why does the Date field display a different value than my preferred date?

By default, the Date fields that don't have any associated time values show the date in the server time zone, UTC, irrespective of your preferred time zone.

Also, if you're using the calendar date picker to set today’s date, the Date field gets populated with the current date in the server time zone, not your preferred time zone.
