Revenue Management Subject Areas, Folders, and Attributes
To create real-time analyses for Revenue Management, you should be familiar with subject areas, folders, and attributes.
Subject Areas
To create an analysis, you begin by selecting a subject area. Then open folders within the subject area to find the columns to include in your analysis.
Subject areas are based on a business object or fact. Revenue Management provides two specific subject areas:
-
Revenue Management - Customer Contracts Real Time
-
Revenue Management - Standalone Selling Price Real Time
For example, to create an analysis of your standalone selling prices, you begin by selecting the Revenue Management - Standalone Selling Price Real Time subject area.
Folders
Each subject area has one fact folder and a number of dimension folders. Fact folders contain attributes that can be measured, meaning that they are numeric values like average standalone selling price and unit standalone selling price. Fact folders are usually named after the subject area. Dimension folders contain attribute and hierarchical columns like standalone selling price type, unit of measure and standalone selling price status.
Some folders appear in more than one subject area. These are referred to as common folders or common dimensions.
Each folder within a subject area may have a different level of granularity. For example:
-
The Pricing Dimensions folder has various pricing dimension attributes.
-
The Standalone Selling Price folder contains subfolders and attributes within the Standalone Selling Price Amounts and Standalone Selling Price Details subfolders.
Attributes
Finally, each dimension folder contains attributes (columns), such as Pricing Dimension Structure Instance Name, Tolerance Range Coverage and Minimum Line Count.
