Create Accounting for Multiple Ledger Processing in Accounting Automation

Accounting Automation can process accounting for transactions across multiple ledgers associated with a subledger application in a single process, helping optimize the use of system resources.

When you enable this feature, the Create Accounting process invoked by Accounting Automation runs in the context of the subledger application instead of running separately for each ledger. This reduces the number of processes required to complete accounting for all ledgers in the Accounting Automation scope. The accounting entries are also transferred directly to General Ledger without running the Post Subledger Journal Entries and Journal Import processes. This results in better resource management and improved efficiency.

The feature is enabled by default for all new Fusion Applications implementations. For existing implementations, you can opt in using the steps provided in the How You Enable This Feature section.

Key benefits include improved performance and better use of system resources.

How You Enable This Feature

Here are the steps to enable this feature:
  • From the Navigator, select Setup and Maintenance.
  • Search for the task Manage Standard Lookups.
  • Search for Lookup Type: ORA_ERP_CONTROLLED_CONFIG.
  • Add this lookup code:
    • Lookup Code: XLA_37258565
    • Enabled: Checked
    • Meaning: Enable Multi‑Ledger Accounting from Accounting Automation
  • Save your changes.

Tips and Considerations

If this feature is enabled:

  • For any subledger applications that transfer journal entries outside of Fusion General Ledger, for example, to Oracle EBS GL or Oracle PeopleSoft GL, the corresponding journal sources will be automatically excluded from the scope because coexistence solutions are not supported with Accounting Automation.
  • Accounting entries are transferred directly to the General Ledger without submitting the Post Subledger Journal Entries and Journal Import processes.
