Ledger Derivation Rules for Accounting Hub Transaction Import

Automatically derive ledgers during transaction import using user‑defined source mapping sets. Use the attribute defaulting rule to create a mapping set that maps the target attribute Ledger Name to one or more header‑level sources.

Deriving valid ledgers from source transaction attributes with configurable rules simplifies integration when ledger information isn’t provided in the transaction data.

You can derive both primary and valuation method secondary ledgers using a single attribute defaulting rule, enabling multiple accounting representations.

Example Configuration

For example, if two attributes Location and Reference in an external transaction are used to derive the ledger in Fusion Accounting Hub, follow these steps to configure an attribute defaulting rule with an attribute mapping set:

  • From the General Ledger Journals work area, navigate to the Attribute Defaulting Rules task.
  • On the Attribute Defaulting Rules page, change the attribute scope and select the subledger application in the Entity field.
  • Create a new defaulting rule:
    • Target Attribute: Ledger Name
    • Source Attributes: Location and Reference
    • Rule Type: Mapping Set
  • Enter a valid ledger for each combination of Location and Reference. Use an asterisk (*) to represent any value for cases where no explicit mapping is defined.
    • Example mappings:
      • Location = CA and Reference = SL → Ledger = OFS SL – USD
      • Location = CA and Reference ≠ SL → Ledger = OFS Ledger US
      • Location = Dublin (any Reference) → Ledger = OFS Ledger GB
  • Save the mappings and activate the rule so it can be applied during the Import Accounting Transactions process.

This feature removes the need for an external preprocessor to derive the ledger before importing transactions into Fusion Accounting Hub and provides a guided, user‑friendly interface for managing derivation rules.

How You Enable This Feature

  1. Navigate to Setup and Maintenance.
  2. Search and navigate to the Setup Task: Manage Standard Lookups.
  3. Search the Lookup Type: ORA_ERP_CONTROLLED_CONFIG.
  4. Define the following Lookup Code under above Lookup Type -
    • Lookup Code: XLA_36529795
    • Enabled: <Checked>
    • Meaning: Ledger Derivation for Accounting Hub Transactions
  5. Save the changes.

Required Security or Privileges

To manage attribute derivation rules, you need the following privilege assigned to one of your job roles:

  • Manage Attribute Derivation Rules (FUN_MANAGE_ATTRIBUTE_DERIVATION_RULES_PRIV)
