Reverse a Partner Contribution Draw

You can reverse a partner contribution draw in the Joint Venture Distributions work area if the associated distribution hasn’t been invoiced. This is useful, for example, when distributions intended for future billing are included in the Assign and Draw Partner Contributions process and drawn prematurely from partner contributions.

Note: If a distribution has already been invoiced, you can’t reverse just the draw. You must reverse the distribution, which also reverses the related partner contribution draw. See Distribution Reversal Methods.

When you reverse a draw, the amount is returned to the partner contribution if the distribution is a debit. If the distribution is a credit, the amount is deducted from the partner contribution, provided there's sufficient balance. If the balance is insufficient, the draw can’t be reversed.

You can reverse draws only for partner contributions that are in Available to Draw status, and the related distributions are in either Available to Process or On Hold status.

Perform the following steps to reverse draws:

  1. In the Joint Venture Distributions work area, select the distributions whose partner contribution draws you want to reverse.
  2. Click the More Actions menu and select Reverse Contribution Draw.
  3. In the dialog box, review the number of eligible distributions and click Reverse.
  4. In the confirmation message, review the number of distributions whose draws were successfully reversed and click OK.

Results:

The partner contribution ID is cleared from each distribution. The partner contribution open amount is increased for a debit distribution and decreased for a credit distribution.
