FAQs About Partner Contributions
Why weren't all eligible credit cost distributions processed by the Assign and Draw Partner Contributions process?
One possible reason is that the process was run with the “Process Credit Cost Distributions” option set to Yes and the “Allow Open Amount to Exceed Contribution Amount” option set to No.
With this configuration, the process doesn't add a credit cost distribution to a partner contribution if doing so would cause the partner contribution open amount to exceed the accounted contribution amount. If another eligible partner contribution is available for the stakeholder, the process adds the credit amount to that partner contribution. Otherwise, the credit cost distribution isn't processed.
To avoid this issue, consider one of the following before you run the Assign and Draw Partner Contributions process:
-
Set the “Allow Open Amount to Exceed Contribution Amount” option to Yes, if appropriate for your business.
-
Make sure that another eligible partner contribution is available for the stakeholder whose open amount can accommodate the credit amount without exceeding the accounted contribution amount.
How can I reverse a partner contribution?
It depends on what you want to reverse:
-
To reverse the invoice or journal entry that funded the partner contribution, cancel the partner contribution. See Cancel a Partner Contribution.
-
To reverse the amount drawn from a partner contribution to pay for a distribution, you can reverse only the draw if the associated distribution hasn’t been invoiced. See Reverse a Partner Contribution Draw.
If the distribution has already been invoiced, you can’t reverse only the draw. You must reverse the distribution, which also reverses the related partner contribution draw. See Distribution Reversal Methods and How Distribution Reversals Affect Partner Contributions.
