Financial Reconciliation
Financial reconciliation ensures that every accounting transaction recorded by a federal agency is properly classified according to Treasury guidelines and that the agency's Fund Balance With Treasury and other balances are aligned with Treasury's records.
Federal agencies use the Classification Transactions and Accountability (CTA) module of CARS to report their monthly accounting activity. Agencies can use U.S. Federal Financials to create and post reclassified transactions and generate the CTA bulk file in the format required by Treasury.
