Recommended Testing Strategy

Pilot testing is recommended for most organizations, while enterprise testing can be used when invoice processes are highly standardized and supplier populations are well understood.

Pilot Testing

Pilot testing is recommended for most organizations.

Typical pilot scope:

  • Limited supplier population
  • Limited user population
  • One or more business units
  • Controlled operational monitoring

Pilot testing enables organizations to:

  • Validate configuration.
  • Establish recognition baselines.
  • Refine training activities.
  • Validate Invoice Completion policies with a limited invoice population.
  • Tune anomaly-control criteria and reduce false positives.
  • Confirm that bulk learning affects only applicable invoices.
  • Gather user feedback.

Enterprise Testing

Enterprise testing is appropriate when:

  • Invoice processes are highly standardized
  • Supplier populations are well understood
  • Significant adaptive learning already exists

Enterprise testing should still include representative invoice samples from major suppliers. Invoice Completion and anomaly controls shouldn't be deployed broadly until their results have been validated using controlled test populations.
