Before You Start
Before configuring Payments Agent, ensure that the following prerequisites are completed.
Complete Payables Configuration
If your organization is setting up Oracle Payables for the first time, complete the foundational Payables configuration before enabling Payments Agent.
Payments Agent relies on existing setup components, including:
- Dynamic Discounting programs
- Virtual Card programs
- Supplier onboarding
- Bank integrations
- Payment Process Request (PPR) templates and payment processing configuration
Confirm Environment Readiness
Ensure that your test or pilot environment is on the expected release and you can access Setup and Maintenance, Security Console, and Scheduled Processes.
Decide Your Rollout Approach
- Phased rollout by business unit (BU) is supported. Payments Agent enablement is performed at the BU level.
- Identify the users who will access Payments Agent.
- Identify the users who will administer Payments Agent and manage AI Agent Studio configurations.
Review Financing Program Requirements
If you plan to use financing-related capabilities, such as Dynamic Discounting or Virtual Card programs, ensure that the required financing programs are configured in Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials.
Identify the program information that will be used to create financing program intelligence documents for Payments Agent.
Plan for Supplier Offer Management
If you plan to use Dynamic Discounting offers, identify:
- Users responsible for managing financing programs.
- Supplier contacts who will receive financing offers.
- Email templates and sender information used for supplier communications.
- Prepare Validation Scenarios
Before beginning implementation, identify test business units, suppliers, and users that will participate in validation activities.
Use these users to verify financing program analysis, supplier offer creation, and payment execution functionality after completing the configuration.
