Enabling Task Manager in FreeForm
You can enable Task Manager for a FreeForm application that currently uses Task List as its task flow type. This is a one-way process that replaces Task List functionality with Task Manager. Existing Task Lists and Tasks aren't migrated and must be deleted before you enable Task Manager. Reverse enablement from Task Manager back to Task List isn't supported.
Prerequisites
Before enabling Task Manager:
- Make sure that the application has separate Year and Period dimensions. If you can't map any existing dimensions to Year and Period, create new dimensions for them.
- Delete all existing Task Lists and Tasks.
- (Recommended) Create an LCM export as a backup before deleting Task Lists.
Enabling Task Manager
To enable Task Manager:
- Go to Applications > Overview and select Actions > Enable Task Manager.
- Select the Year and Period dimensions when prompted.
- Click Confirm to start the enablement process. The selected dimensions become permanent and can’t be changed later.
During enablement, the application is placed in Admin Mode, preventing other users from accessing it. The process may take several minutes. When it completes, you are automatically logged out. Log in again to begin using Task Manager.
After enabling Task Manager, administrators can manage tasks from Applications > Task Manager, and users can access Task Manager through Tasks on the Home page.
