Operating system and browser notification settings

You can configure your Fusion Service application to trigger desktop notifications to appear when new phone calls or chats are delivered to agents. This is useful in that it sends alerts to agents who aren't actively working within Fusion Service.

By selecting your notifications, you bring the Fusion Service page into focus where an agent can accept a call or a chat.

After enabling your notifications using the Omnichannel profile options, you might need to change your operating system or browser settings if your notifications aren't working as expected.

Enable Windows System notifications

  1. In Windows, find the Settings > System > Notifications setting and make sure it's set to On.
  2. Expand the setting and check the remaining settings to enable them.

Reboot your computer

Now just reboot your computer to use the new settings.

Troubleshooting

  • If you're not seeing notifications in the Notification Center, note that Windows System Notifications aren't supported in Chrome Incognito windows.
  • If you're not seeing the notification banner:
    • Make sure you're in the latest version of Chrome.
    • Check Microsoft Help for more information.
  • If you're using Windows 10, note that Windows 10 can’t display notification banners from an app if that app isn’t allowed to run in the background. Here's how you can check if you're using the correct settings:
    • Click Start > Settings > Privacy.
    • Select Background apps.
    • Make sure the Let apps run in the background setting is enabled.
    • In the Choose which apps run in the background setting, make sure Chrome is set to On.
