Overview of Payroll Core

Implement Payroll Core for countries that Oracle doesn't have a localized version of the payroll application.

The Payroll Core application is a flexible payroll solution for companies that manage different pay structures for employees working around the world. These employees are often not subject to local pay rules like taxes, overtime, or minimum wage but they must adhere to unique international pay practices.

Oracle provides localized versions of the global payroll product to meet country-specific statutory and legislative requirements for several countries across the globe: United States, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, China, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Bahrain at present time.

With Payroll Core, Oracle allows you to set up payroll requirements for countries Oracle doesn’t support. Payroll Core typically includes the following:

  • A generic set of features for you to run the basic payroll processes.
  • A set of payroll objects that you must configure for the specific country. For example, you must define the country and set the default currency of the country that you are processing payroll and paying your employees.
  • The application doesn’t have any predefined objects like jurisdictions, elements, balances, payment types, and so on. You must define these objects as required.
  • Taxation isn’t delivered, but it can be configured with Elements and Fast Formulas.
