Configure Employee Abstract Role

Configure the predefined employee role, which provides the privileges to all the global payroll functions along with the self service privileges for India.

The predefined employee abstract role provides access to the global payroll functions alongwith the self service privileges as part of India localization tasks, such as:
  • Investment Declaration

  • Previous Employment Information

  • Investment Proof Submission

The India localization tasks aren't relevant for non Indian Payroll admin users.

Configure Employee Abstract Role

  1. From the home page, navigate to Security Console in Tools section.

  2. In Roles:

    1. Search for Employee, Code: ORA_PER_EMPLOYEE_ABSTRACT
    2. select Copy Role and then Copy top role and inherited roles.

    3. Click Copy Role

  3. Enter a custom Role Name and Role Code. Click Next.

  4. Click Yes in the confirmation message.

  5. Go to Summary and click Submit and Close.

  6. In the Administration Tab, check the Role Status.

    Note: When the Status is Complete, you can assign the role to an employee or a user.
When you hire a non Indian employee, the employee gets the auto-provisioned role Employee. Here are the changes you need to make to remove the India Localization Tiles from Employee Self Service.
  1. Go to Employee User Account Setting and delete the Auto-Provisioned Role Employee.

  2. Click Add Roles.

  3. Search for the custom role you've created.

  4. Select the role and click Add Role Membership.

  5. Click Done.

  6. Click Save and Close.
