Setup Tasks for Implementing Payroll in India

To implement the Oracle Fusion Payroll application for India, sign in as a user with Application Implementation Consultant or Payroll Implementor role and opt for the offerings applicable to your business requirements.

Before you begin implementing payroll for India, you must complete:
  • Initial application setup.

  • Implementation of Global Human Resources and the requisite HR setup tasks for implementing and processing payroll. For more information, refer to the Implementing Global Human Resources guide.

Refer to the Functional Setup Manager guide to manage the opt in and setup of your offerings.

For implementing Global Payroll use the Workforce Deployment offering and the Customer Data Management offering.

This table lists the setup tasks required to implement the Global Payroll application. Perform all of these tasks from the Setup and Maintenance work area. Use My Enterprise on the home page to navigate to Setup and Maintenance. Most of these tasks are under the Workforce Deployment offering unless otherwise specified in the first column of this table.

Manage Legislative Data Groups Define at least one Legislative Data Group for each country your enterprise operates in.
Define Common Applications Configuration/Define Enterprise Structures for HCM/Define Legal Jurisdictions and Authorities for HCM Manage Legal Addresses Create legal addresses for all organizational units of the enterprise before you create legal entities.
Manage Legal Jurisdictions Review the predefined jurisdictions for your country and create any jurisdictions you require for specific local taxes.
Manage Legal Authorities All legal entities must be registered against a jurisdiction that is governed by a legal authority. Create legal authorities as required for your country.
Define Common Applications Configuration/Define Enterprise Structures for HCM/Define Legal Entities for HCM Manage Legal Entity Create all legal entities that apply to the enterprise you are setting up. Designate the legal entity as a legal employer and as a payroll statutory unit (PSU) for payroll.
Manage Legal Entity Registrations Define registration details of the legal entity you create. Register them with the appropriate government or legal authorities for the purpose of claiming and ensuring legal or commercial rights and responsibilities.
Manage Legal Entity HCM Information Manage legal entity HCM information to include statutory components as required.
Define Common Applications Configuration/Define Enterprise Structures for HCM/Define Legal Entities for HCM/Define Legal Reporting Units for HCM Manage Legal Reporting Unit Define legal reporting units (LRU) also known as tax reporting units, to group employee records for tax and social reporting.
Manage Legal Reporting Unit Registrations Define registrations details of the LRU and register them with the appropriate government or legal authorities for the purpose of claiming and ensuring legal or commercial rights and responsibilities.
Manage Legal Reporting Unit HCM Information Review the LRU that employs and pays workers. Define statutory requirements as required.
Define Payroll Legislations Configure Legislations for Human Resources Create the legislative rules for your country. Legislative rules govern default values and how you manage employee records in your organization. Configure payroll relationship rule for your country and map a person type to a payroll relationship type.
