Global Search

Use Oracle Search-based Global Search to quickly find all active employees, contingent workers, and nonworkers as of today’s date.

Global search involves a complete search of people and displays matching results irrespective of the public person security profile of the logged in user. Oracle Search-based global search provides a faster search experience. Here’s a list of the new person search capabilities.

  • Improved relevancy of results - Only the relevant person records are displayed so you don't have to scan through multiple records to find the one you were searching for.
  • Fuzzy person name search - Search allows for simple mistakes and typos up to two spelling differences.
  • Name synonyms search - Synonyms are defined for many English sounding names. You can search by different forms of the name. For example, when you are searching for ‘Bill’, people named ‘William’ will also be displayed in the results.
  • Field Weight - Primary search is by person name and person name matches are of highest relevancy.
  • Ability to search by other person attributes - Although person name search is of highest relevancy, you can also search using these person attributes - person display name, person number, work email address, and business title.
  • Improved search results - Search results display direct reports at the top followed by others.
