Add a Payroll and Make Payroll a Mandatory Attribute

You add a payroll to a person to control how and when the person is paid.

You can automate adding a payroll record to a newly created assignment and make payroll a mandatory attribute on flows such as new hire using the HCM Experience Design Studio.

Set the Payroll Details region to ‘required’ in the HCM Experience Design Studio to ensure that your users can’t submit the transaction, such as new hire, without viewing the Payroll Details region.

You can define rules to display payroll attributes on flows such as new hire and add assignment and access the Add Payroll and Delete Payroll attributes in the HCM Experience Design Studio.

Add Payroll

Set this attribute to 'required' to automatically add a payroll record to newly created employment records. For example, if you’re using the Recruiting product, a payroll record is automatically added to the offer. If you create new hires directly in the HR product, a payroll record is automatically added to the new hire.

When you enable the Add Payroll attribute for an action such as ‘Hire an Employee’, the payroll region is expanded within the new hire flow.

Note: You must select a payroll to complete the transaction. If there is no payroll assigned to the employee, you must delete the blank payroll record to complete the transaction.
Note: Use the Add Payroll feature in conjunction with the Show or Hide Regions feature to make payroll a mandatory attribute.

You can also use the auto-complete feature to define rules to default the payroll for an employee.

Delete Payroll

Set this attribute to “Not Visible’ to hide the delete button on the payroll record. For example, if you are using auto-complete to default the payroll for an employee, you may want to stop the user from deleting the employee payroll record.

Steps to Enable

  1. Access HCM Experience Design Studio from My Client Groups
  2. Select Transaction Design Studio
  3. Enter an Action such as Hire an Employee
  4. Click on Add in the Rules section
  5. Under Show or Hide Regions select Payroll Details to be set as Required
  6. Under Page Attributes select the region as Payroll Details and you can view the Add Payroll or Delete Payroll. attributes.
