Opt-Out Period for Qualifying Pension Schemes

A period of one calendar month after enrolment during which an employee can opt out and get a full refund of any contributions.

The opt-out period start date is either the enrolment date or the date the employee received notification of their enrolment, whichever is later. An employee can't opt out before the opt-out period starts or after it ends. After it ends, they must leave the scheme, rather than opt out. At that time, refund of contributions depends on the pension scheme rules.
