Perform an Employee Transfer with Multiple Approval Stakeholders for the US

In this example, you are transferring an employee to a different legal employer within the same legislative data group (LDG). Your corporate policy requires multiple stakeholders to perform this type of transfer.

For this example, assume the following.

  • Vision Restaurants has separate legal employers for Vision Fast Food and Vision Fine Dining, each in a separate payroll statutory unit (PSU).

  • You have a manager in the Vision Fine Dining legal employer transferring to Vision Fast Food.

  • As part of this transfer, you want to copy their payroll attributes to the new payroll relationship.

  • Vision Restaurants has configured the Local and Global Transfer workflow so that the Line Manager initiates the transfer and then routes the request to the Payroll Manager, who validates the payroll attributes.

  • Vision Restaurants has used HCM Experience Design Studio to hide the Copy Costing Overrides and Element Entries values from the Line Manager.

  • Vision Restaurants wants to exclude the transfer of costing overrides when employees work temporarily in other departments within the same legal employer.

Because Vision Restaurants hides the costing overrides fields from the Line Manager, the Payroll Manager must exclude them during the Copy Payroll Details stage.

High-Level Steps

This example involves the following:

  1. Use the Local and Global Transfer task to initiate the transfer as a Line Manager.

  2. Approve the payroll details as a Payroll Manager.

  3. The process routes the request to the approver.

  4. Once it's approved, the process creates an assignment.

  5. It creates a payroll relationship because the legal employer has separate payroll statutory units (PSUs) for each of its entities.

Steps for the Line Manager

The Line Manager initiates the transfer with the Local and Global Transfer task.

  1. From My Client Groups, click Show More.

  2. In Employment, click Local and Global Transfer.

  3. Search for and select the manager you are transferring.

  4. Select the info types you are copying to the new legal employer.

Due to Vision Restaurants' corporate policy, the Costing Overrides and Element Entries options are hidden and not selectable.
  5. Click Continue.

  6. In When and Why, select the following.

    Field label

    When you do

When does the transfer take effect?

Enter the effective date of the transfer

Who's the new legal employer for global transfer?

    Select Vision Restaurants Fast Food

    What's the way to transfer?

    Select Global Transfer

  7. Click Continue.

Steps for the Payroll Manager

Because Vision Restaurants enforces a two-part employee transfer process, the Line Manager can't set all the values required for the transfer. Instead, the process passes the workflow to the Payroll Manager.
