Audit Element Security Profiles

Complete these tasks to enable audit of the element security profiles business object and its child objects and track and view changes to element security profiles.

  1. Enable auditing of the Element Security Profile and its attributes
  2. Run the Audit Report

Enable Audit of the Element Security Profile

Follow these steps to enable auditing of the Element Security Profile and its attributes.
  1. Search for and use the Manage Audit Policies task from Setup and Maintenance.
  2. On the Manage Audit Policies page, select Auditing as the Audit Level for Oracle Fusion Applications. This setting turns on the auditing functionality.
  3. Click Configure Business Object Attributes.
  4. On the Configure Business Object Attributes page, select Global Payroll as the Product. The business objects associated with that product appear in the Objects section.
  5. Select the check boxes for the Element Security Profile and its attributes Legislative Data Group, Element, and Element Classification.
  6. Click Save and Close.

Run the Audit Report

After you have enabled auditing, use the Audit Reports quick action to view the change history of the Element Security Profile and its attributes Legislative Data Group, Element, and Element Classification.
Note: To view the change history of a business object or to create a report, you must have a role with the View Audit History (FND_VIEW_AUDIT_HISTORY_PRIV) privilege assigned to it.
  1. Navigate to Tools > Audit Reports from the Home page.
  2. On the Audit Reports page, select the values as shown in this table.

    Date Select Equals and use the date picker to set a date as on which you want to track the change history of the Element Security Profile and its attributes.
    Product Global Payroll
    Event Type Select Equals and the All check box.
    Business Object Type Select one of these:
    • Element Security Profile
    • Element Security Profile - Legislative Data Group
    • Element Security Profile - Element
    • Element Security Profile - Element Classification
  3. To audit security profiles and all their objects, select Element Security Profile, and select the check box Include child objects. To audit a specific object within the security profiles, select that object from the list.
  4. Click Search.

Transactional events in the application trigger the audit process based on the create, update, and delete operations on the enabled business object and its attributes or child objects. The report output displays the event type, business object type and attribute name, and the old and new values.

When an element is removed from the Element Security Profile, it is tracked in the Audit Report. However, when an element that is included in a security profile is deleted from the Manage Element page, it is automatically removed from the security profile. This deletion isn't shown in the Audit Report.
