Setup Tasks for Implementing Global Payroll

Use to understand options and determine the sequence of tasks to implement global payroll.

To implement the Oracle Fusion Global Payroll application, sign-in as a user with Application Implementation Consultant or Payroll Implementor role and opt into the offerings applicable to your business requirements.

Before you begin implementing Global Payroll, you must complete:
  • Initial application setup.

  • Implementation of Global Human Resources and the requisite HR setup tasks for implementing and processing payroll. For more information, refer to the Implementing Global Human Resources guide.

Workforce Deployment Offering

Use this offering to set up enterprise structures, legal entities, and organizations to create and maintain information related to people, employment, work structures, and statutory requirements. The offering also includes tasks for defining payroll business objects required for processing and costing payroll, processing payments, and generating statutory reports.

This table lists the setup tasks required to implement the Global Payroll application. Perform all of these tasks from the Setup and Maintenance work area.Use My Enterprise on the Home page to navigate to Setup and Maintenance. Most of these tasks are under the Workforce Deployment offering unless otherwise specified in the first column of this table.

Manage Territories

If you're unable to find a specific country in the Manage Geographies page, create the country. Use this country to set up your organization and other setup tasks.

Use the territory code and name to verify geographies, create legal addresses, and select the country extension.

Select Default Currency

On the Manage Territories page, select the default currency for the country. This is the currency in which balances are accumulated for this legislation.

Manage Geographies Use the territory code to verify predefined geographies and load any additionally required local geographies. You can import Oracle-licensed data from Loqate, for those countries where the data is available.

Manage Legal Authorities All legal entities must be registered against a jurisdiction that is governed by a legal authority. Create legal authorities as required for your country.

Designate the legal entity as a legal employer and as a payroll statutory unit (PSU) for payroll.
